KNIGHTS BRIDGE

It took 20 years of searching to discover this magical property for Knights Bridge Vineyards – a stone’s throw from the fabled Peter Michael vineyards and just north-west of Chateau Montelena. Bridging the counties of Sonoma and Napa, Knights Bridge Vineyards are located on the southern boundary of the stunning Knights Valley AVA of Sonoma County. Cool wind from the Pacific blows through the gap in these mountains, providing the grapes with longer hang time to develop richer flavors. Blessed with a combination of iron-rich and white-ash tufa (calcium carbonate) soils, the terroir of Knights Bridge, combining the perfect blend of climate and location, provides an ideal environment for the 15 year-old chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc vines to thrive. Taking a sustainable approach, these carefully farmed hillsides share open space with wildlife habitats and riparian corridors, helping preserve nature’s delicate balance. In September 2011 we were certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winemaking Alliance.

2014 Knights Bridge Chardonnay Pont de Chevalier

Our 2013 Knights Bridge West Block Chardonnay is intriguing and opulent. A lusty perfume of fresh citrus, smoky vanilla, almond praline and baking spice, which is echoed on the palate, is carried on by a wash of bright acidity and framed by toasted oak notes. Flavors of baked spiced apples and dark caramel linger on the clean finish.
