The vineyards of Caspari-Kappel lie on the steep slopes of the Mosel around the village of Enkirch. Here the vines are up to 100 years old all grown in different slate soils and they offer excellent conditions for producing impressive Riesling wines. In the tradition of the area the Caspari family has been operating their vineyards for over 500 years. The current venture is run by Nico Caspari and winemaker Uwe Jostock. Since 2007 they have been practicing organic viticulture. Their holdings cover 8.5 hectares in the individual vineyards of Ellergrub, Monteneubel, Steffensberg and Zeppwingert, and Gaispfad.
